Definition of Tyler, Wat
  • (d.1381), English leader of the Peasants‘ Revolt of 1381. He captured Canterbury and went on to take London and secure Richard II’s concession to the rebels’ demands, which included the lifting of the newly imposed poll tax. He was killed by royal supporters.
