- (1933-), Russian poet. Third Snow (1955) and Zima Junction (1956) were regarded as encapsulating the feelings and aspirations of the post-Stalin generation; full name Yevgeni Aleksandrovich Yevtushenko. He incurred official hostility because of the outspoken nature of some of his poetry, notably Babi Yar (1961).
