- (1925–80), English comic actor. He established his reputation on The Goon Show, a radio series of the 1950s, but he is best known for the “Pink Panther” series of movies of the 1960s and 1970s, in which he played French detective Inspector Clouseau. Other notable movies: The Lady Killers (1955) and Dr. Strangelove (1964).
