  • (1799–1837), Russian poet, novelist, and dramatist; full name Aleksandr Sergeevich Pushkin. His first success was the romantic narrative poem Ruslan and Ludmilla (1820). Other notable works: Eugene Onegin (1833) and Boris Godunov (1831).
