  • (1925–70), Japanese writer; pseudonym of Hiraoka Kimitake. His books include the The Sea of Fertility (1965–70), which looks at reincarnation and the sterility of modern life. An avowed imperialist, he committed hara-kiri after failing to incite soldiers against the postwar regime.
