The all-time pitching leader in wins (511), he pitched for the Cleveland Spiders 1890–98, the St. Louis Cardinals 1899–1900, the Boston Red Sox 1901–08, and, briefly, the Cleveland Indians and the Boston Braves before retiring in 1911.
