résumé
Pronunciation: /ˈrɛzjʊmeɪ/

Origin:
early 19th century: French, literally 'resumed', past participle (used as a noun) of résumer

Résumé means 'a summary' ( a quick résumé of events); it is a French word, and is usually spelled with accents on the e's. It should not be confused with resume, which means 'begin again after a pause' ( the talks will resume in April).
