Definition of Yevtushenko, Yevgeni
- (b.1933), Russian poet; full name Yevgeni Aleksandrovich Yevtushenko. His work, including poems such as Third Snow (1955) and Zima Junction (1956), was regarded as encapsulating the feelings and aspirations of the post-Stalin generation; he incurred official hostility because of its sometimes outspoken nature, notably in Babi Yar (1961).
