Definition of Thomson, Roy Herbert
1st Baron Thomson of Fleet (1894–1976), Canadian-born British newspaper proprietor and media entrepreneur. He settled in Edinburgh in 1952, buying the Scotsman, and later the Sunday Times (1959) and The Times (1966).
