Definition of Stout, Rex
  • (1886–1975) US writer; full name Rex Todhunter Stout. He created the portly, food-loving, orchid aficionado Nero Wolfe, a detective who appeared in many of his novels, from Fer de Lance (1934) to A Family Affair (1975).
