Definition of Seneca, Marcus Annaeus
(circa 55 bc-circa 39 ad), Roman rhetorician, born in Spain; known as Seneca the Elder; also called Lucius Annaeus Seneca. Father of Seneca the Younger, he is best known for his works on rhetoric, only parts of which survive.
