Definition of Redmond, John
(1856–1918), Irish politician, leader of the Irish Nationalist Party in the House of Commons 1891–1918; full name John Edward Redmond. The Home Rule Bill of 1912 was introduced with his support, although it was never implemented because of the First World War.
