Definition of Paz, Octavio
  • (1914–98), Mexican poet and essayist. His poems reflect a preoccupation with Aztec mythology. He is also noted for his essays written in response to the brutal suppression of student demonstrations in 1968. Nobel Prize for Literature (1990).
