Okavango

Definition of Okavango
  • a river of SW Africa which rises in central Angola and flows 1,600 km (1,000 miles) south-eastwards to Namibia, where it turns eastwards to form part of the border between Angola and Namibia before entering Botswana, where it drains into the extensive Okavango marshes of Ngamiland. Also called Cubango.
