  • (1890–1950), Russian ballet dancer and choreographer; full name Vaslav Fomich Nijinsky. The leading dancer with Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes from 1909, he went on to choreograph Debussy’s L’Après-midi d’un faune (1912) and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring (1913).
