Definition of Krebs, Sir Hans Adolf
(1900–81), German-born British biochemist. He discovered the cycle of reactions (Krebs cycle) by which urea is synthesized in the liver as a nitrogenous waste product. Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine (1953).
