Definition of Kariba Dam
  • a concrete arch dam on the Zambezi River, 385 km (240 miles) downstream from the Victoria Falls. It was built in 1955-9, creating Lake Kariba and providing a bridge over the Zambezi between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
