Definition of Herzl, Theodor
(1860–1904), Hungarian-born journalist, dramatist, and Zionist leader. The founder of the Zionist movement (1897), he chiefly worked as a writer and journalist in Vienna, advocating the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine.
