Definition of Ferguson, Sir Alex
(b.1941), Scottish football manager and footballer; full name Alexander Chapman Ferguson. He became manager of Manchester United in 1986: he took them to a seventh Premier League Championship in 2001, and in 1999 won it as part of a treble with the FA Cup and the European Champions League.
