Definition of Debrett, John
(circa 1750–1822), English publisher. He compiled The Peerage of England, Scotland, and Ireland (first issued in 1803), which is regarded as the authority on the British nobility; it is published today as Debrett’s Peerage and Baronetage, but is often known just as Debrett’s.
