- (1792–1878), English painter, illustrator, and caricaturist. The most eminent political cartoonist of his day, he was known for exposing the private life of the Prince Regent. His later work includes illustrations for Charles Dickens’s Sketches by Boz (1836), and a series of etchings supporting the temperance movement.
