Definition of Cather, Willa
(1876–1974), American novelist and short-story writer; full name Willa Sibert Cather. Her home state of Nebraska provides the setting for some of her best writing. Notable novels: O Pioneers! (1913) and Death Comes for the Archbishop (1927).
