Definition of Cagney, James
(1899–1986), American actor. He is chiefly remembered for playing gangster roles in films such as The Public Enemy (1931), but he was also a skilled dancer and comedian who received an Oscar for his part in the musical Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942).
