Definition of Beaumont, Francis
(1584–1616), English dramatist. He collaborated with John Fletcher on Philaster (1609), The Maid’s Tragedy (1610–11), and many other plays. The Knight of the Burning Pestle (circa 1607) is attributed to Beaumont alone.
