Definition of Williams, Hank
  • (1923–53), US country singer and songwriter; born Hiram King Williams. He had the first of many hits, “Lovesick Blues,” in 1949 and that year joined the Grand Ole Opry television program. Many of his songs were successfully recorded by other artists. “Your Cheatin' Heart,” recorded in 1952, was released after his sudden death.
