Definition of Tisza
  • a river in southeastern Europe, the longest tributary of the Danube River. It rises in the Carpathian Mountains of western Ukraine and flows west for 600 miles (960 km) into Hungary and then south to join the Danube River in Serbia northwest of Belgrade. Serbian name Tisa.
