Definition of Thomas, Dylan
  • (1914–53), Welsh poet; full name Dylan Marlais Thomas. In 1953, on radio, he narrated Under Milk Wood, a portrait of a small Welsh town, interspersing poetic alliterative prose with songs and ballads. Other notable works: Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog (prose, 1940).
