  • (138–78 bc), Roman general and politician; full name Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix. After a victorious campaign against Mithridates VI, Sulla invaded Italy in 83. He was elected dictator in 82 and implemented constitutional reforms in favor of the Senate.
