Definition of Seaborg, Glenn
(1912–99), US nuclear chemist; full name Glenn Theodore Seaborg. During 1940–58, he and his colleagues produced nine of the transuranic elements (plutonium to nobelium) in a cyclotron. He shared the 1951 Nobel Prize for Chemistry with Edwin McMillan (1907–91).
