Definition of Scott, Sir Robert
- (1868–1912), English explorer and naval officer; full name Sir Robert Falcon Scott. During 1910–12, he and four companions made a journey to the South Pole by sled, arriving there in January 1912 to discover that Roald Amundsen had beaten them by a month. Scott and his companions died on the journey back to base.
