- (1915–2009), US economist. A professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1947, he held many international advisory positions, including that of consultant to the Federal Reserve Board. He wrote the best-selling textbook Economics: An Introductory Analysis (1948). Nobel Prize in Economics (1970).
