Definition of Niemeyer, Oscar
  • (1907-), Brazilian architect. An early exponent of modernist architecture in Latin America, he designed the main public buildings of Brasilia (1950–60) and in 1996 created the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum in Rio de Janeiro.
