Definition of Murray, Gilbert
(1866–1957), British classical scholar, born in Australia; full name George Gilbert Aimé Murray. His translations of Greek dramatists helped to revive interest in Greek drama. He was also a founder of the League of Nations and later a joint president of the United Nations.
