Definition of Cobain, Kurt
(1967–94), US rock singer, guitarist, and songwriter; full name Kurt Donald Cobain. As leader of the Seattle band Nirvana, his style helped characterize the alternative music scene. His notoriety reached cult status, particularly after his suicide in April 1994.
