  • the name of a family of US actors, notably:
  • Lon (1883–1930); full name Alonso Chaney. A silent film star known as the Man of a Thousand Faces, he played a wide variety of deformed villains and macabre characters in more than 150 movies, including The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923) and The Phantom of the Opera (1925).
  • Lon, Jr. (1906–1973), Lon’s son; born Creighton Tull Chaney. He played the lead in a number of horror movies, such as The Wolf Man (1941) and Son of Dracula (1943).
