  • (b.1940), Panamanian statesman and general, head of state 1983-9; full name Manuel Antonio Morena Noriega. Charged with drug trafficking by a US grand jury in 1988, he eventually surrendered to US troops sent into Panama and was brought to trial and convicted in 1992.
